The Nguzo ...Saba (7 Principles of Kwanzaa) is a set of principles that guide the lives of the Afrikan people. Applying these practices to our daily lives provides stability, structure, a way of life, and how to succeed. Kwanzaa means “first fruit of the harvest” in the Afrikan language of Kiswalia. Many phrases used in Kwanzaa are in Swahili, which is the language chosen to represent Afrikan heritage. Continental Afrikan “first fruit” celebrations: ingathering; reverence; commemoration; recommitment; and celebration. Kwanzaa was established in 1966 in the midst of the Black Freedom Movement and thus reflects its concern for cultural focus in thought and practice, and the unity and self-determination associated with this. It was conceived and established to serve several functions.

Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility)
December 28, 2025 ...
"To build and maintain our community together and make our brother's and sister's problems our problems and to solve them together."
Historically, African American families have developed and thrived because of their reliance of each other and the community. The core meaning and practice of Ujima is the care and concern for others, an understanding that “I am because we are, and because we are, I am.” We exist, we achieve, and we flourish because of the support and sacrifice of others.

To define ourselves, name ourselves, create and speak for ourselves.
Peace and Blessings! I greatly appreciate the synergy building ...amongst us as a family. We are learning to enhance our knowledge that will create levels of systematic structure based on Afrikan principles. Kwanzaa Celebration 2025/26
Join us as we celebrate the "first fruit of the harvest" in the African language Kiswalia.
My Brothas & Sistahs, let us reflect together as ...a family on the Nguzo Saba. The seven principles of Kwanzaa represent values embraced by our motherland, Afrika, and remain strongly embedded in our daily lives.
